William Willis has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. William is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Dragonfly Financial Technologies. Prior to this, they worked as the Head Coach of Field Hockey at Gainesville High School and as an Assistant Coach at Battlefield High School in Prince William County Public Schools. William also co-founded Co-Create Community and served as the Co-Founder of the organization. William founded and acted as the CEO of Level Up Fun, an early-stage startup focused on personal and team development. William held positions as the Vice President of Engineering and Chief Architect at Aura, where they oversaw the development and management of their identity protection products. Additionally, they co-founded Pet Pawfection, an online store specializing in pet gifts. Earlier in their career, William worked as a Principal Software Architect and Mobile Application R&D specialist at OSG, leading engagements at companies such as Fannie Mae and Capital One. William also served as Enterprise Architect at BondDesk Group LLC and Amtrak. Their responsibilities included migrating systems to continuous integration platforms and architecting innovative prototype systems. William's work experience demonstrates their expertise in technology leadership, coaching, entrepreneurship, and architectural design.
William ♾ Willis began their education at Virginia Tech in 1988 and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. During this time, they also pursued a minor in Mathematics. After a break in their education, William went on to attend George Mason University from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering.
In addition to their academic achievements, William has obtained several certifications. In August 2020, they completed the Startup School program at Y Combinator. William also holds certifications in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross (obtained in June 2019), Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED/Standard First Aid from the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (obtained in September 2017), Level 2 Certified Interscholastic Coach (Field Hockey) from the National Federation of State High School Associations (obtained in April 2017), Level 2 Field Hockey Coach from USA Field Hockey (obtained in January 2017), and SafeSport from USA Field Hockey (obtained in October 2016). These certifications showcase William's commitment to both personal and professional development.
