Dr. Karen Riggins is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in various roles within K-12 education. As Principal of Dougherty County School System since July 2018, and previously as Assistant Principal, Dr. Riggins has demonstrated a commitment to fostering positive school climates and enhancing student achievement. Prior roles include serving as Instructional Coach at Quitman County K-12 School and Academic Vice Principal at Al Maseera Girls School under the Abu Dhabi Education Council, where responsibilities encompassed training teachers, coordinating academic activities, and implementing professional development initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Riggins held the position of Principal at Atlanta Public Schools, where organizational management, data analysis, and community partnership development were key focuses. Dr. Riggins holds a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the same institution.
