Joshua Gordon has a wealth of experience in data science and analytics. Joshua began their career in 2010 as a Program Coordinator for Financial Beginnings. In 2012, they joined Pacific Life as a Data Analyst, and was promoted to Senior Data Scientist in 2014. During their time at Pacific Life, they conducted Monte Carlo simulations, Time and Motion Studies, and used ANOVA and multiple regression to model relationships between cost drivers. In 2015, Joshua joined Seagate Technology as a Staff Data Scientist, where they led a pattern recognition project and developed and deployed Computer Vision Models and traditional ML models. In the same year, they also began teaching at UCLA, where they wrote exams, lectures, and syllabuses for an Introductory Statistics class, and conducted office hours and graded labs and exams as a Teaching Assistant. Joshua is currently a Senior Data Scientist at dotData, where they started in 2022.
Joshua Gordon attended Palo Alto High School before going on to study Economics at Willamette University, where they earned a B.A. in 2009. Joshua then attended the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). After that, they returned to the University of California, Los Angeles, where they earned a Masters of Science in Statistics in 2012, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics in 2017.
