Before joining Domtar, Benoit worked in various positions at companies such as InEdge, Bell Sygma, Sun Microsystems, and SHL Systemhouse. Benoit holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from Université Laval and a Cegep degree in Pure and Applied Sciences from College Limoilou.
