Joseph Toth began their work experience in 1984 as a Senior Consultant at Duquesne University, where they later served as Adjunct Faculty in the School of Business until 2009. In 1986, they joined Dollar Bank as the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, leading a cross-functional team to execute business strategies. From 2010 to 2014, they also worked as Adjunct Faculty at Chatham University in the School of Business.

Joseph Toth received their Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Duquesne University in 1978. Joseph then went on to complete their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Economics from Duquesne University in 1981. In 1994, they attended the ABA/Stonier Graduate School of Banking for two years. Additionally, in 2004, Joseph obtained a Credit Risk Certification from The Risk Management Association.
