Anna-Karin Edstedt Bonamy

Anna-Karin Edstedt Bonamy has a long and varied work experience. Beginning in 2000, they completed an internship as an AT-läkare at Region Gävleborg. Anna-Karin then worked as a Pediatrician and Resident in Pediatrics at Karolinska University Hospital from 2002-2009. In 2009, they began a post-doc role at Karolinska Institutet, where they were responsible for register based research and data management and analysis. From 2014-2017, they held the role of Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet, where they published over 60 peer reviewed original articles in perinatal and cardiovascular epidemiology and was the PI of large research grants from national funding bodies. During this period, they also held roles at Wiley as an Associate Editor for Acta Paediatrica, at the Swedish Pediatric Society as a Board Member, Vice President, and Scientific Secretary, and at Sachsska barn- och ungdomssjukhuset as Program Director and Consultant Pediatrician. In 2018, Anna-Karin began a role on the Board of Directors at Calmark Sweden AB, a public company that specializes in innovative point-of-care diagnostics for newborns. In 2020, they began a role as a Deputy Board Member at Swecare Foundation. Finally, from 2017-2020, Anna-Karin held the roles of CEO, Chief Medical Officer, and Head of Medical/Medical Doctor at Doctrin AB.

Anna-Karin Edstedt Bonamy has an extensive educational background. Anna-Karin completed their PhD in Pediatrics at Karolinska Institutet between 2004 and 2008. Prior to that, they obtained their MD from Karolinska Institutet between 1994 and 2000. In 2020 and 2021, they attended Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education and earned a Business Administration for Managers degree. Between 2009 and 2019, they were certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in the field of breastfeeding medicine. During their studies, they also completed an ERASMUS program at Pierre and Marie Curie University between 1997 and 1998, studying surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, and infectious diseases. Additionally, they studied French at Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne in 1996, and English A at Stockholm University between 1993 and 1994.
