Shelby Russell began their work experience as an Event Attendee at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2015. Shelby later worked as an Intern at the City of Chesapeake Police Department in 2017. In 2018, they served as an Intern at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, where they provided administrative support and assisted with evidence collection. From 2015 to 2018, Shelby worked as an Administration/Research Assistant at Internal Medicine, Kidney & Hypertension Center, where they handled confidential information, developed policies, and trained new employees. In 2019, they became a Patient Care Coordinator at McLean, Oral, Facial, and Implant Surgery, where they oversaw subordinates, developed an information-sharing program, and led quality control efforts. Shelby then joined DocASAP in 2019 as a Client Success Associate, working as Operations Lead to develop an online scheduling platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shelby continued in this role into 2020, utilizing research analysis skills to collect provider information and formulate healthcare products.
Shelby Russell attended Oscar F. Smith High School from 2011 to 2015. Shelby then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in criminology, law, and society with a concentration in Homeland Security, as well as a minor in Intelligence Analysis and Forensic Psychology at George Mason University from 2015 to 2019.
