Laura Stout

Senior Biomedical Engineer at DNA Electronics

Laura Stout has a diverse background in biomedical engineering and research. Laura began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Purdue University, where they independently designed and prototyped a novel two-dimensional paper network (2DPN) lateral flow assay-based platform for rapid point-of-care disease detection. Laura then worked as a Research Assistant at CROSSLIFE TECHNOLOGIES INC, where they specialized in point-of-care diagnostic development, rapid prototyping, and immunoassay validation. Laura's role at DNA Electronics involved being a Research Associate for the Sample Preparation team, where they contributed to the development of specific DNA capture assays from whole human blood samples and worked with human blood samples and live bacteria. Laura also worked as a Biomedical Engineer at DNA Electronics, focusing on optimizing and guardbanding multiple sample preparation methods. Most recently, Laura worked as a Biomedical Engineer II at Pattern Bioscience. In this role, they gained further experience in the field before joining DNA Electronics (DNAe) as a Biomedical Engineer.

Laura Stout attended Purdue University from 2013 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering.
