Irene Chen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Irene started their career in 1998 as a Business Analyst at KPMG. Irene then moved on to Cisco in 1999, where they worked as a Corp Planning Analyst for three years. In 2003, Irene joined IFRC as a Finance Analyst. Irene then worked at DKSH as a Project Manager from December 2006 to February 2011. Following that, they had a role as a Brand Manager at DKSH in 2011, where they managed sales and marketing for lifestyle products in Malaysia. Irene transitioned into the role of International Project Manager at DKSH, designing and implementing a mobile application for the sales team from January 2012 to February 2013. Irene then became a Consulting Director at DKSH, holding that position until February 2016. Irene's most recent role at DKSH was as the Director of Client Management & Business Projects, where they handled account management and business development. Additionally, they were involved in M&A activities in the Asia Pacific region.

Irene Chen has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Auckland, with a focus on Accounting, Finance, and Marketing.
