Rhys Freitas is an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in developing complex engineering products across various industries, including life sciences and subsea technology. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at D&K Engineering since June 2019, Rhys specializes in contract development of electro-mechanical robotic systems, achieving notable success in architecting a robotic system for an innovative in vitro fertilization procedure. In addition to this role, Rhys has a concurrent position at Schilling Robotics Limited, focusing on mechanical system development for challenging subsea conditions. As the founder of 3D Flight, Rhys leads the design and development of aerospace products. Prior experiences include mechanical engineering roles at Inogen and Helix Medical, where expertise in CAD design, team collaboration, and product development were honed. Rhys holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.
