Dave Kortbawi has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Dave started their career as a Principal Scientist at Maxwell-Physics International, where they specialized in the development of Plasma Opening Switches for nuclear weapons effects simulators. Dave later joined KLA-Tencor as a Sr. Staff Systems Design Engineer and Engineering Manager, where they contributed to the development of SEM columns and wafer inspection systems. From there, they moved on to Cymer, serving as a Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering and working on the development of an Extreme UltraViolet source for sub 24 nm lithography. Dave then joined General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as a Sr. Test Engineer and later became a Program Manager. Currently, Dave works as a Principal Systems Engineer at D&K Engineering.
Dave Kortbawi completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics at Rutgers University from 1976 to 1980. Dave then pursued further education and obtained their Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1980 and 1987.
