Sheryl Gates is an experienced educator with a diverse background in technology instruction and intervention across various grade levels. Currently serving as a 3rd-5th grade Technology Teacher at Distinctive Schools since July 2023, Sheryl previously taught Kindergarten-8th grade technology at CICS-Loomis Longwood. Sheryl's expertise includes digital citizenship, internet safety, and coding through platforms like Code for Life and Scratch. A former Reading and Math Interventionist at Chicago International Charter School-Longwood, Sheryl has also held positions as a Library Media Clerk and Specialist, K-2 Science Coordinator, and classroom teacher for grades K-2. Sheryl's academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Education-School Library and Information Technologies from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Education from Saint Xavier University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Merchandising Management.
