Bryan Kai has a diverse work experience in software engineering and project coordination. Bryan currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer at Discuss, starting in March 2023. Prior to this, Bryan worked at Apptio as a Software Development Engineer from October 2019 to January 2023. Bryan also gained experience as a Software Engineer Apprentice at Microsoft LEAP Apprenticeship from April 2019 to August 2019. Before transitioning into software engineering, Bryan interned as a Software Developer at Conversica from September 2018 to April 2019. Bryan also pursued a Full Stack Web Development program at Galvanize Inc from February 2018 to July 2018, where they developed a storage sharing platform called Shelf Storage.

Prior to their ventures in the software industry, Bryan worked as a Project Coordinator - MEP at Marx|Okubo Associates, Inc. from June 2016 to January 2018. Bryan also held the position of Mechanical Engineer at Energy Recovery Inc from August 2013 to April 2016. Bryan started their professional journey as a Design Engineer Intern at ACCO Engineered Systems in May 2012, followed by a role as an Assistant Technician at UC Berkeley from January 2012 to May 2012.

Bryan Kai obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2009 to 2013. Bryan later pursued a Certificate in Web Development at Galvanize Inc in 2018.
