Daniel Reeves

Director, Education & Outreach at Discovery Institute

Daniel Reeves has a diverse range of work experience. Daniel started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rhode Island College, where they designed and implemented studies related to genetics and toxicology in sharks and skates. Daniel then worked as a Field Research Assistant at USDA-APHIS, assisting in the study of an invertebrate invasive species. At the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), they served as a Biologist - Student Services Contractor, helping design and implement toxicological studies of freshwater fish. Daniel also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, participating in a long-term study of plant chemical defenses against herbivores.

Daniel joined Starbucks as a Barista and eventually became a Barista Trainer, responsible for delivering consistent, high-class customer service and training new employees. Daniel also worked as a Tea Blender, creating complex tea blends. Later, they became a Quality Assurance Technician, ensuring product quality.

Daniel then transitioned to the education sector, working as a STEM Teacher in Monroe Public Schools, teaching field-based nature exploration courses. Daniel continued their career in education at Imagine Children's Museum as a Lead Educator. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Education and Outreach at Discovery Institute.

Daniel Reeves attended Rhode Island College from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology. In 2011, they also spent a brief period studying abroad at James Cook University, specializing in Marine and Tropical Biology. Reeves later pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin - Madison from 2012 to 2013, although they did not obtain a specific degree during this time. In 2016, they obtained a Conditional Teaching Certificate in K-12 Science and Math, without mentioning the institution where they received this certification.
