Sean Hackett has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Sean is currently working as the Director of Business Unit at Directional Services, Inc. where they specialize in utility-scale solar and electrical utility solutions. Prior to this, they worked at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) as a Technical Leader for Solar Generation and also as an Engineer/Scientist III. At EPRI, they conducted research and development projects focused on electricity generation and delivery. Sean also has experience working at Bosch as a Sr. Project Manager, where they managed projects related to high voltage DC loads and energy storage. Before that, they worked at Entropy Solar Integrators as the Director of EPC Project Delivery, overseeing a portfolio of energy projects and managing the development and construction phases. Sean also worked as a Senior Project Manager and Technical Project Engineer at Entropy Solar Integrators. Earlier in their career, they gained technical sales and design experience at Innovative Solar Solutions, Inc. and worked as a Technician at High Country Energy Solutions, performing various energy audits and installations. Sean started their career as an Electrician Apprentice at Glenn Pirkle Electrical Contractors.

Sean Hackett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology with a focus on Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University. Sean attended this university from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2004, they studied General Studies at Valdosta State University. In addition to their formal education, Sean Hackett has obtained several certifications including Advanced Open Water Diver from PADI in March 2018, Nitrox Diver from SDI TDI ERDI in May 2012, PV Installation Professional from NABCEP in April 2011, and Open Water Diver from NAUI Worldwide in July 1996.
