Dr. Marek Allen is a Senior Data Scientist at Direct Line Group, responsible for leading the redevelopment and migration to Gradient Boosting Machines (GBMs) within the home pricing team, utilizing Python for the creation of efficient data processing and model training templates. Previously, Dr. Allen served as a Data Science Manager at BT, where engagement with finance sectors highlighted the advantages of machine learning for decision-making, culminating in a well-attended session with a University of Bristol lecturer. Other notable positions include Senior Data Scientist at LV= General Insurance, where an NLP-based model improved customer service efficiency, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Bristol.
