Alberto Romero

Director IT Operations at Dinova

Alberto Romero has a wealth of work experience that spans over several decades. Alberto began their career in 1986 with Datapoint as a Developer for Software Testing. From there, they worked as a Software Engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company from 1990 to 1992, and then as a Sr. Software Engineer at the Super Conducting Super Collider from 1992 to 1993. In 1994, they joined Octel Communications as a Sr. Software Engineer, specializing in Telephony Switch Provisioning.

Moving forward, Alberto worked at Sabre from 1996 to 2001, serving as the Architect and Manager for Travel Agency Financial Systems, where they managed software development teams and implemented a centralized operation model for agency financial systems. Alberto also held the role of Principle Architect for Point of Sales Solutions at Sabre.

Alberto then joined Travelocity in 2001 as the Chief Architect, leading the team responsible for migrating legacy applications to a new open source architecture. Alberto also established new practices for knowledge transfer and created a formal Release Management practice and team. Subsequently, Alberto served as the Director of Technology for Sale, Service, and Finance Systems at Sabre/Travelocity from 2005 to 2007.

In 2007, Alberto joined Iron Mountain Records Management as the VP and Chief Architect. Here, they established the Enterprise Architecture practice and played a key role in various business initiatives such as transportation, warehouse management, business intelligence, web channel modernization, pricing, billing, and customer care practices. Alberto also maintained the enterprise road map for legacy systems.

From 2012 to 2015, Alberto worked as the Chief Architect at Groundlink (Comvest Company). Here, they held the position of Chief Architect, responsible for overseeing architectural design and implementation.

Most recently, Alberto has been working at Dinova since 2016. In their role as the Director of IT Operations, they are responsible for managing the business operation processes required to onboard restaurants and clients. Alberto also oversees IT operations, security, and ensures the availability, scale, change management, and business continuity of the company's data center, cloud applications, and corporate computing systems.

Alberto Romero attended the Universidad de Panamá from 1978 to 1983, where they pursued a Doctorate degree in Science and Medicine. Following this, from 1985 to 1988, they studied Computer Science and Math at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
