Alena Dagneau has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Alena is currently the Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder at Digit, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to this, Alena worked as a Senior Engineering Consultant for Freelance Web Development, where they collaborated with clients on their Frontend software architecture. Alena also served as the VP of Engineering at Revel Gatherings from July 2020 to February 2023, leading a remote team of engineers and interns, coaching managers, and shaping the future engineering organization.

From September 2016 to July 2020, Alena was the Head of Engineering at Make School, where they led a team of engineers, designers, product managers, and interns. Alena was responsible for hiring team members, managing their career development, and conducting performance reviews. During their time at Make School, they also worked as a Senior Frontend Engineer, building a React-based learning management system called online academy.

Alena started their career as a Frontend Engineer at Brandwatch in October 2011. Alena developed user-facing features for a social media analytics platform with a focus on user experience. Additionally, they worked as a Social Media Analyst at Brandwatch, where they analyzed social media conversations and produced reports for clients.

Before entering the tech industry, Alena gained experience in computer support at the University of Brighton, where they helped students set up their computers and resolved technical issues. Alena also worked on yachts as a stewardess/deckhand, teaching English as a foreign language, and supervising a children's center at Northstar at Tahoe.

Alena Dagneau completed their A-Levels in History and Biology from Herderschule Lüneburg from 2001 to 2004. Alena then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Media Development at the University of Brighton from 2009 to 2012. Following this, from 2013 to 2014, they completed a Master of Science degree in IT with Business & Management at the University of Sussex, focusing on Information Technology with Business and Management.
