Olumide Akinremi has worked in a variety of roles since 2014. In 2014, they were a Protection, Control, and Metering Engineer at the Transmission Company of Nigeria PLC, where they installed and programmed Protection relays using the MICOM AGILE software, analysed Daily Activity Reporting Charts (DARC), and calculated Fault Distances and Patrol Zones to pinpoint exact fault locations. In 2015, they were an Industrial Engineering Intern at the same company, where they wired, labelled, and mounted 132KV Protection Current Transformers and Potential Transformers, recorded and analyzed hourly readings of transmission parameters (voltage, current, power), and performed preventive maintenance on pneumatic SF6 Circuit breakers. In 2016, they were an Application Engineer and Support Engineer (NYSC) at Zysod Communications Limited, where they developed a SCADA system, ※Zysod-SCADA§ that allowed for remote monitoring and control of the company*s base transceiver stations, designed a bi-directional communication system between the company*s base transceiver stations and an asynchronous task service using the MQTT protocol, and rewrote Network Optimization Repeater Software, ※NORS§, originally written in Pascal Delphi using Python and ReactJS, adding new features like &automatic device detection*. In 2020, they were a Technology Analyst at Bank of America and a Researcher (MEng.) at University College Dublin. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at DIGIT, a Scopely Studio.
Olumide Akinremi obtained a Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSCE) from Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan in 2011. Olumide then obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University in 2016. Olumide also obtained a Certificate of National Service from the National Youth Service Corps in November 2016, a Diploma in Leadership Development from the African Leadership Development Centre in April 2016, and an AWS Certified Developer 每 Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2022. Olumide is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering - MEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering from University College Dublin, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2021.
