David Albrecht has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles and industries. David co-founded Dials in 2021 and served as its CEO. Prior to this, they worked at Starsky Robotics as a Senior Software Engineer for its Infrastructure and Truck Platform teams. Albrecht was also a Managing Partner of a consulting group called shortbar and held various roles at Apteligent, culminating in their position as Technical Operations Lead. David was the CTO and Co-founder of Wishery and served as a Program Manager at Microsoft and a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Albrecht started their career as a developer at Baseball Info Systems and completed an internship as a Software Development Engineer in Test at Microsoft.

David Albrecht attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School from 1999-2003, where they received their high school diploma. David then went on to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2003-2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. In 2008-2009, they returned to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for their Master of Science degree in Computer Security and Networking. In 2011, they attended AngelPad, but it is unknown if they obtained a degree or field of study.
