Ishara Liyanagamage has a diverse work experience in the field of telecommunications and electrical engineering. Starting in 2013, Ishara worked as a Trainee Telecommunication Engineer at Sri Lanka Telecom, gaining practical and theoretical knowledge in switching, transmission, and maintenance sections. In 2014, Ishara joined the Ceylon Electricity Board as a Trainee Electrical Engineer, where they were involved in the operation and maintenance of power systems and studied various protection systems and standards. Since 2015, Ishara has been working at Dialog Axiata PLC, where they have held various roles including Lead Engineer - Unit Manager - Access Network Planning and Lead Engineer - Assistant Manager - Access Network Planning. In these roles, they have been responsible for planning and designing radio networks, conducting capacity and coverage planning, optimizing networks, and budget planning. Ishara also has experience in conducting POCs with vendors to test new technologies and features and implementing them on the network.
Ishara Liyanagamage completed a BSC in Engineering with a focus on Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Peradeniya from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their GCE advanced levels in the Mathematics stream at Maliyadeva College from 2007 to 2010. Their primary education was obtained at Royal College Wayamba from 2001 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Ishara Liyanagamage has obtained additional certifications in various fields, including SQL Training from TetraK Analytics, Inc., Verified International Academic Qualifications from World Education Services, AI For Everyone® - Theory from AI Singapore, IESL Associate Member from the Institute Of Engineers Sri Lanka, and Tamil Language Proficiency - Preliminary Level from the Department of Official Languages - Sri Lanka.
