Embedded Engineer at Diablo Controls

Matt K. has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Matt started their career as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Hydro-Gear in 2001. Matt then interned at Blaw Knox as an Intern in the Tool and Die shop in 2002. During this time, they gained experience in AutoCAD, fixture design, and asset inventory.

In 2003, they worked as a Software Engineer at AUAV, where they assisted in PCB assembly design and wrote auto-pilot code and telemetry software.

From 2005 to 2014, Matt worked at Nevco Inc. as a Sr. Electrical Engineer. Their major projects included a cost reduction/redesign of the outdoor scoreboard line and a redesign of the indoor scoreboard line, resulting in significant cost and time savings for the company. Their daily duties involved using the ADDIE process, collaborating with various departments, designing PCB schematics, layouts, and verifying circuit functionality.

From 2015 to 2020, they worked at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) as a PCB Designer I.

Most recently, Matt has been working as an Embedded Engineer at Diablo Controls, Inc. since 2020.

Matt K. began their education at Lincoln College, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Technical Theater. Matt attended Lincoln College from 1997 to 1999. Afterward, they enrolled at Eastern Illinois University from 1999 to 2003, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Technology with an Emphasis in Automation/Electronics. In 2015, Matt obtained a certification as a Certified Interconnect Designer from EPTAC.
