John Swansey has a diverse work experience in various industries. John co-founded Dexer in 2017 and served as the Chief Experience Officer, leading the development of innovative speech recognition solutions. John also gained experience as an investor at RTP Capital Associates, where they identified potential investments and conducted due diligence. Their interests in this role were focused on product development, user testing, design, and user experience, with a particular emphasis on medical devices and innovations in the food supply chain. Alongside their entrepreneurial endeavors, John has also worked in academia as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business and as a Professor of the Practice at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to these roles, they held senior positions in design and user experience at Lenovo and IBM.
John Swansey completed their Bachelor of Engineering and Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University, where they studied from 1978 to 1982. John then pursued their Master's degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, specializing in both Industrial and Product Design. John attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1985 to 1987.
