Kimberly Jones has over 13 years of experience in human resources and personnel management. Kimberly is currently the Head of People at Devon Air Ambulance, where they are responsible for the day-to-day running and strategic delivery of the People department. Kimberly leads the development of the corporate strategy for people, talent, and culture, and manages the People Team, overseeing recruitment, HR case work, policy development, payroll, pensions, employee engagement, and learning and development.
Prior to their current role, Kimberly worked at Plymouth City Council as the Acting Employee Relations Manager, where they led a team of Employee Relations Specialists and managed complex case work. Kimberly also played a key role in negotiations with trade unions to introduce weekend working and other changes to ensure the successful delivery of The Box project, a £46 million museum, gallery, and archive.
Earlier in their career, Kimberly worked at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, first as a Medical HR Team Leader and then as a Medical Workforce Manager. In these roles, they led and managed the medical workforce team, including recruitment, retention, workforce planning, policy production, negotiation with trade unions, and provision of employment advice to senior managers. Kimberly was also instrumental in implementing the 2016 Junior Doctor's Contract.
Before joining the NHS Trust, Kimberly worked at Plymouth City Council in various HR roles, providing employment advice to schools and the Children's Social Care department. Kimberly also worked in the Policy team, reviewing and implementing policies in line with employment legislation and advising on HR projects such as harmonizing terms and conditions.
Throughout their career, Kimberly has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive organizational change. Kimberly is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).
Kimberly Jones - MCIPD completed their Master's degree in Personnel & Development from the University of Plymouth, from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also hold several certifications. Kimberly became a Chartered Member of the CIPD in October 2012. Furthermore, they received recognition as a finalist for the Best L&D Initiative in Public/Third Sector at the People Management Awards, awarded by the CIPD in September 2022. Prior to this, they were also named a finalist for the Rising Star category by the PPMA - Public Services People Managers Association in November 2019.
