Matthew Russell is an experienced psychology manager at the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), where responsibilities include developing a system for overseeing behavioral restrictions and conducting internal reviews to ensure compliance with OPWDD mandates. Previously, as a behavior specialist, Matthew maintained a caseload involving individuals at residential and day service facilities and achieved clinical certification (LCSW) in April 2022. Prior roles included caseworker and program manager at MercyFirst, where Matthew provided intensive casework to clients and implemented Sanctuary-based techniques. Additional experience spans substance abuse counseling, archival logging for NBCUniversal, and various production and design roles in creative environments. Matthew holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from Stony Brook University.
