James Sun has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. James is currently the Founder and CEO of MINTX, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Executive Chairman of Devblock Technologies, Inc. starting from January 2018.
James has also been involved with Beautytap, where they were a partner in a family office owned venture since June 2017. James was responsible for bringing together beauty experts, aestheticians, and makeup artists to review beauty, nutrition, and wellness products.
In 2007, James became a partner in Dramabeans Inc, the largest destination site for the Korean drama community. James introduced Korean dramas to over 100 million users and built a social network for worldwide fans.
Additionally, James was the CEO and Founder of Pirq from January 2012 until June 2016. James successfully raised an $8 million venture round for the company, which focused on digital loyalty, mobile deals, and yield management connecting consumers and local businesses.
Before Pirq, James founded Sun & Associates in 2001, where they provided consulting and seed round investment services for startups, technology commercialization, and business development. James incubated and invested in various projects, including online education, mobile infrastructure, consumer transportation, magazine publishing, online Korean entertainment, and mobile social networking.
James is also known for their work as a public speaker and thought leader on entrepreneurship and diversity. James has delivered over 100 keynote speeches at prestigious organizations and universities.
Furthermore, James served as a board member of the University of Washington Alumni Association from October 2010 to January 2014. James was also a board member of the United Way of King County, where they actively participated in strategic board meetings and served on the Brand Enhancement Committee.
In terms of media experience, James worked as a television host and producer for a show called "Sun Tzu's Art of War" in collaboration with BBC, Mediacorp, and CMMN. The show aired worldwide in over 20 countries.
James Sun is a Wonderous 100 Alumni of the University of Washington. James has also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree and a degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Washington.
