Dr. Erkan Arikan serves as the Director of Turkish Service and a member of the Editorial Council at Deutsche Welle since November 2018. Prior experience includes leadership roles at WDR, including Head of the Turkish Editorial Department and a special advisor to the radio director, along with reporting positions across various media organizations such as Norddeutscher Rundfunk and ARD. Dr. Arikan's academic accomplishments include a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Münster, obtained between 2016 and 2023, and an Associate degree in the same field from Freie Universität Berlin from August 2002 to August 2004.
