Rob Lohman

Director, Pro Scouting at Detroit Lions

Rob Lohman enters his 14th season with the Lions and was named the club's director of pro scouting in 2019. Lohman worked two seasons (2014-15) as the assistant director of pro personnel before being named the team's assistant director of pro scouting in 2016. He previously spent seven seasons as the team's college scouting coordinator and regional scout.

In his current role, Lohman supervises the pro scouting staff and oversees all pro player evaluation, the advance scouting process, free agency and the daily monitoring of player transactional movement in all professional leagues.

Lohman originally joined the player personnel staff in May 2007 and had a variety of responsibilities in both college and pro scouting, including serving as the team's advance scout during his first season.

Previously, Lohman spent six years with the Houston Texans, and was a member of the organization before it began play in the NFL in 2002. From 2004-06, he served as the team's northeast regional scout, and was the team's pro administrator from 2002-03. Additionally in 2003, he handled all team advance scouting duties. Lohman joined the Texans in 2001 as a scouting intern.

Before entering the NFL ranks, he was a graduate assistant at Syracuse University, where he earned his master's degree in higher education. In 1998, Lohman was a special teams and recruiting assistant at Hofstra.

Lohman graduated from the University of South Carolina, where he earned a bachelor's degree in sports management and worked with the Gamecocks' football program as an undergraduate recruiting assistant.

He and his wife, Mari, have a son, Brenden, and two daughters, Katie and Brynn.
