Darren Johnson has extensive experience in security and law enforcement, currently serving as the Ford Field Director of Security for the Detroit Lions since October 2014. Prior to this role, Darren Johnson had a distinguished career with the Detroit Police Department from August 1989 to September 2014, culminating in the position of Police Sergeant. During this tenure, Darren Johnson worked in various assignments, including narcotics enforcement, organized crime, and domestic violence, ultimately leading the Executive Protection Unit and participating in the Violent Crimes Task Force. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Wayne State University, earned between 1985 and 1989.
