Derek Williams is a Senior Materials Engineer at Desktop Metal since December 2020, focusing on the development of fluids for binderjet printing applications. Prior to this role, Derek held various positions, including the development of the Forust material system for the Shop Printing System and serving as a Principal Materials Engineer at Markforged, where innovative manufacturing materials were a priority. Derek’s experience also spans roles at ORCO, 3D Systems Corporation, and Z Corporation, where responsibilities included managing product development, formulation of 3D printing materials, and leading advanced research projects. Derek began their career as a Senior Chemist at Stahl and has a solid educational background, holding a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
