Arelis Romero has extensive work experience in various roles related to sales and support in the logistics industry. Arelis is currently the Latam Sales & Channel Director at Descartes Systems Group since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at GreenMile as the Regional Sales Director Latin America from April 2020 to October 2021, and as the Regional Sales & Channel Manager and Account Manager from August 2018 to April 2020. Arelis also has experience at Smart Logistics International S.A., where they worked as a Software Engineering Consultant and Support from April 2012 to August 2018. Before that, they served as a Technical Support Engineer at Smart Logistics International from April 2007 to April 2012. Arelis began their career at Grupo Mizhart as a Manager Technical Support from September 1998 to March 2007.

Arelis Romero has a diverse education history. In 1994-1999, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the same university between 2000 and 2002. Arelis then specialized in Telecommunications, earning a Specialist degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela between 2002 and 2004. Arelis continued their education with various certifications in project management, including an Expert degree in Project Management according to PMI from the Instituto Europeo de Posgrado - IEP in 2015-2016 and an Internal Auditor of ISO 21500 on Project Management from Bearu Varitas Business School in 2016. More recently, they pursued multiple master's degrees from ENEB - Escuela de Negocios Europea de Barcelona, specializing in International Commerce (2017-2018), Business Administration and Management (2017-2018), and Supply Chain Management (2018).
