Lusanda Nxodo (Pr.Sci.Nat.) is a dedicated water scientist with extensive experience in the Department of Water and Sanitation. Since January 2021, Lusanda has been serving as a Water Scientist I, Blue Drop Inspector, and Green Drop Assessor, focusing on the evaluation of KwaZulu Natal municipalities against regulatory standards for drinking and wastewater quality. Prior experience includes a role as a Scientific Officer from June 2015 to December 2020, where Lusanda regulated water service authorities' performance and compliance. Previously, Lusanda worked as an Environmental Officer in 2014-2015, offering technical support to municipalities, and as a Climate Change Officer from February 2013 to May 2014, producing assessments on climate change impacts on water resources. Lusanda holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honors in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from the University of Zululand, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Resource Management and a BSc in Environmental and Water Science from the University of the Western Cape.
