Gilles Lavaud is the Director of the Heritage and Housing Department at the Département de l'Hérault since September 2018, overseeing the development and maintenance of over 400 departmental buildings and 80 colleges, managing both built and unbuilt land, and implementing housing policies related to social housing. Previously, Gilles Lavaud served as Deputy Director of the Roads and Mobility Department, responsible for 4,600 km of departmental roads and associated modernization efforts. Prior roles include Deputy Director of Mobility at Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Traffic Regulation Service Manager at the City of Montpellier, and various positions at the Département de l'Hérault and Montpellier Agglomeration. Gilles Lavaud holds an engineering degree from ENSIL-ENSCI and is a laureate of the Institut National des Etudes Territoriales.
