Tony Smith is an experienced education leader currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Schools and Chief of Equity and Engagement at Denver Public Schools since January 2022. Prior to this role, Tony held the position of Regional Superintendent at KIPP Texas Public Schools - DFW from August 2019 to March 2022, and spent several years at Denver Public Schools in various capacities, including Regional Instructional Superintendent and Instructional Superintendent, focusing on supporting school leaders and enhancing educational opportunities for students and families. Additionally, Tony has served as Executive Director in the Adams County School District 14 and held a principalship in Denver Public Schools. Tony's educational background includes an Executive Leadership Coaching degree from Columbia University, a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver, and multiple master's degrees in educational leadership, administration, curriculum, and instruction. Tony began academic pursuits with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from Adams State University.
