Mariel Tam-Ray has extensive experience in journalism, serving as the Nightside editor at the Denton Record-Chronicle since August 2001, overseeing the copy desk and managing the editing of news and sports stories, page design, and digital content. Previous roles at the publication include Copy editor, News editor, and Assistant news editor. Earlier experience includes positions at The Rice Thresher from 1997 to 2001, where Mariel held titles such as Copy editor and co-editor in chief, as well as summer internships at The Met and the Plano Star Courier. Mariel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rice University, completed in 2001.
