Thijs Geerts has a diverse range of work experience. Thijs started their career as a Marketing Intern at Eurofysica in 2012, where they conducted sales research and surveys. In 2013, they worked as a Parliamentary Assistant Trainee at the European Parliament, where they helped organize international conferences and prepared plenary sessions. Thijs then transitioned to the role of Assistant Advisor for Study Abroad at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, providing advice to students and developing social media concepts. From 2014 to 2015, Thijs worked as a Channel Marketing Intern at Unilever, contributing to rebranding projects and assisting with marketing strategies. Thijs also served as a Parliamentary Advisor at the European Parliament, managing communications and content for MEP Van Nistelrooij. In 2016, they worked in Warehouse Operations & Logistics at THE STING, performing supply chain tasks. Thijs then joined Henkel in 2017, initially as a Trade Marketing Intern and later as a Jr Manager Supply Planning, where they led product meetings and managed customer orders. From 2019 to 2022, they worked at GD Medical as an Account Manager Trade, expanding purchase orders and monitoring stock levels. Most recently, Thijs joined Hoppenbrouwers Techniek B.V. in 2022 as an Elektrotechnisch Tekenaar i.o., gaining experience in electrical engineering. Thijs is currently working as an Electrical Engineer at DENS since 2023.
Thijs Geerts completed their Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Strategy and Management in International Organizations from Linköping University from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business and Languages from Fontys University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, in 2012, Thijs participated in a Study Abroad Program in International Business and Economics at Sam Houston State University. Thijs also holds certifications in Business English (BEC Higher) from the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, which they obtained in June 2012, and Intermediate Spanish (Español Nivel Intermedio) from Buespanish Spanish language school in Buenos Aires, which they obtained in August 2011.
