Derik Breytenbach is an experienced engineering professional specializing in mechanical engineering and design. Currently serving as an Eng Simulation Design Specialist at Denel Land Systems since September 2010, Derik develops advanced barrels to meet market demands while managing product definitions and documentation through Engineering Change Proposals. Prior experience includes a role as a Design Engineer at Pebble Bed Modular Reactor from July 2008 to August 2010, focusing on conceptual design and Finite Element Analysis. Between January 1997 and June 2008, Derik held the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer at Denel Land Systems, where expertise was applied in conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and the detailed design of artillery mechanisms. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Honours from the University of Pretoria, along with further studies at the University of South Africa.
