Margaret Marrer

Senior Director of K-12 Curriculum and Assessment at Democracy Prep Public Schools

Margaret Marrer is the Senior Director of K-12 Curriculum and Assessment at Democracy Prep Public Schools. Margaret has been with Democracy Prep since August 2009. Prior to that, they were a teacher with the NYC Department of Education from August 2007 to August 2009, and a 7th grade math teacher with Teach For America from July 2007 to July 2009.

Margaret Marrer received their undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in international political economy and Russian. Margaret then went on to Pace University to earn their masters in teaching secondary mathematics. Lastly, they completed their education at Teachers College, Columbia University with an Ed. M. in public school leadership with a focus in urban education leadership.

Margaret Marrer works with Tanya Nunez - Assistant Superintendent, Ryan Silver - Assistant Superintendent, and Duncan Scherer - Assistant Superintendent & Managing Director of New York. Margaret Marrer reports to Steve Popper, Superintendent & Chief of Schools.
