Carla Dickmann has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. Carla started their career as a Writing Center Tutor at Winona State University in 2001 and held various positions at the university including Security Supervisor and Graduate Assistant/Instructor. In 2007, they worked as a Server/Bartender at Buffalo Wild Wings. From 2010 to 2013, they served as a Marketing Communications Specialist at BizLab. Carla's most recent experience includes working at Delta Defense LLC, where they started as a Writer/Copy Editor for USCCA/Concealed Carry Magazine in 2013 and then became the Copy Chief of the magazine in 2018.

Carla Dickmann obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English – Writing from Winona State University in the years 1999 to 2004. Carla then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English – Language and Literature from the same university, which they completed from 2004 to 2007.
