Matthew Keatley has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and web development. Matthew is currently working as a Front End Developer at Degreed since October 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Nordstrom for almost a decade, starting as a Technical Integration Designer from March 2010 until October 2014. During their time at Nordstrom, they also held the positions of Software Engineer from October 2014 to November 2016 and Software Engineer 2 from November 2016 to October 2019. In these roles, they played a crucial role in building an in-house Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform for Nordstrom's photo studios, traveled nationwide to integrate new tools, automated processes, and received the Nordstrom All-Star Award in 2012. Before Nordstrom, Matthew founded and operated a freelance business called Negative One Designs from June 2006 to July 2010, offering web development services along with brand consulting, business strategies, and corporate identity design. Matthew also worked as a Graphic Designer at Crocs, Inc from June 2005 to July 2007, where they conceptualized and designed collateral for international marketing campaigns collaborating with major companies such as Disney, Warner Bros., NFL, NBA, and MLB.
Matthew Keatley attended the University of Victoria from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Sociology, specifically in the field of Computer Science. After a brief break, from 2005 to 2007, Matthew attended Red Rocks Community College, where they earned a Certificate in Motion Graphics and Animation. During this time, they studied Animation, Web Development, Graphic Design, and Video Editing. In 2015, Matthew completed iOS Developer Training at Big Nerd Ranch, although they did not earn a specific degree from this institution.
