Richard Schwerdtfeger is an experienced attorney at Degan, Blanchard & Nash since October 2016, specializing in Louisiana litigation and trial law with a focus on the defense of casualty, admiralty and maritime, construction defect, and products liability claims. In addition to litigation, Richard manages the firm’s legal developments newsletter, keeping clients informed on changes in relevant laws. Prior experience includes serving as a law clerk at Duplass Zwain Bourgeois Pfister & Weinstock, APLC, where Richard drafted legal memoranda and conducted research in insurance defense, and at Denechaud & Denechaud, LLC, along with a legal internship at the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Richard holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and multiple Bachelor of Science degrees from Louisiana State University in Political Science, Business Economics, and Communication Studies.
