John Espey has extensive work experience spanning over 15 years, with a focus on co-founding and leading various tech companies. John is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Defiance Ventures, a role they have held since July 2020. Prior to that, they co-founded Defiance Digital in March 2020.

In terms of strategic advisory roles, John served as a Strategic Advisor for Nexgrid from June 2012 onwards. For Levvel.io, they held several roles, including Co-founder, CEO/Co-Founder, and Managing Director/Co-Founder, from September 2013 to March 2021.

John also has experience as a Board Advisor and Chief Executive Officer for Lobby CRE from July 2019 to February 2020. John served as a Strategic Advisor for Stratifyd from November 2018 to February 2020.

Before their ventures in co-founding companies, John co-founded Reward Summit in April 2012. Reward Summit is a credit card rewards optimization platform. John also served as the General Manager for CLD Partners from April 2012 to September 2013.

John started their career with Amentra, where they held the position of VP of Operations from April 2006 to October 2009. John later served as the SVP Commercial Services and Chief Operations Officer at Amentra, Inc from June 2009 to March 2010.

John Espey obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Sciences/MIS from George Mason University, where they studied from 1994 to 2000. Later, they pursued an MBA in Finance at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, completing their studies from 2008 to 2009.
