Jeff Mears has worked in various roles since 2000. Jeff began their career as an Operations Coordinator at Rich Computing, overseeing the building, imaging, delivery and installation of standard PC desktops and thin clients for Area Health clients. In 2005, they moved to the Windsor Castle Hotel as a General Manager. In 2013, they joined the NSW Rural Doctors Network as a Systems Engineer. In 2017, they held two roles simultaneously, a Software Engineer at Firstwave Cloud Technology and a Senior Software Engineer at SwitchDin. In 2020, they moved to Boeing as a Senior Software Engineer and is currently employed as a Software Developer at Deferit.

Jeff Mears attended Merewether High from 1992 to 1997, followed by the University of Newcastle from 1997 to 2001. Jeff then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Technology (Computing Studies) from RMIT University between 2009 and 2015. In June 2015, they obtained a Certified Solidworks Associate certification from Dassault Systèmes.
