John Medici has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. John began their career in the US Army as a Senior Systems Administrator from 1997 to 2001. After that, they worked as a Systems Administrator & Network Security Advisor at Green Dot Solutions, LLC from 2003 to 2005. John then became a self-employed IT Consultant, providing technical support and maintenance for small businesses from April 2005 to October 2005.
In 2005, John joined CACI International Inc, where they held multiple roles including Systems Administrator Tier II from October 2005 to May 2006, Logistics Operations Manager from May 2006 to May 2007, and Systems Analyst Supervisor from May 2007 to February 2012.
From 2012 to 2014, John worked at Washington Headquarters Services as a VIP Support Branch Chief from February 2012 to October 2013 and as a Customer Service Support Branch Chief from November 2013 to June 2014.
In 2014, John joined the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as the Deputy Associate Chief Information Officer for Energy Information Technology Services from June 2014 to November 2015. John then served as the (Acting) Deputy Chief Information Officer for Enterprise Operations and Shared Services from November 2015 to March 2016, and as the (Acting) Deputy Chief Information Officer for Cybersecurity from March 2016 to June 2016. Finally, they became a Senior Adviser to the CIO from June 2016 to September 2017.
Currently, John Medici is working at the Secretary of Defense Communications as the Operations Chief since October 2017.
John Medici attended George Mason University from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Information Technology. In 2013, they attended American University and received a Key Executive Leadership Certificate. No specific field of study is provided for the certificate program.
