Alejandra Goyenechea is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in international environmental law. Currently serving as Senior International Counsel at Defenders of Wildlife since December 2007, Alejandra has previously held the position of Director of International Affairs at Procuraduria Federal de Proteccion al Ambiente from May 2003 to February 2004 and worked as a Legal Assistant at Baker Botts from August 2001 to August 2002. Alejandra holds an LLM in International Environmental Law from American University Washington College of Law and a Doctor of Law (JD) from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, complemented by a High School Diploma from Liceo Franco Mexicano.
