Chris MacKenzie

National Support Specialist (head Office) at Defence Construction Canada

Chris Mackenzie has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Chris started their career as a Founder/Consultant/President/Entrepreneur at Proper Measure, where they measured houses, created floor plans, and developed web-based strategies. Chris then worked as a Space Planning Assistant at Diana Kingma Design Ltd., performing space and furniture inventories and creating working drawings for office renovations.

Chris also worked at the University of Victoria, initially as a Design Technician in Facilities Management, where they created working drawings, maintained the record drawing repository, and developed and maintained the UVic maps. Chris later became an Audiovisual Project Manager, assessing classrooms for equipment upgrades and writing requests for quotes/proposals. Chris also served as a Project Officer, managing building and maintenance projects, and as a Design Technician, creating working drawings for campus renovations.

At Defence Construction Canada, Chris held various roles. Chris worked as a Coordinator in Contract Management, managing Standing Offer Agreement contracts, negotiating pricing, and monitoring contractor work. Chris also served as a Technical Specialist in Project Management, providing support to Department of National Defence project managers and developing project documents. Additionally, Chris worked as a Technical Specialist in Program Management, supporting program management for Real Property Operations and developing reporting dashboards.

Lastly, Chris worked as a Musician for Astrocolor/Weird Party.

Chris Mackenzie attended the University of Victoria from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a B.Sc. in Geography. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Sir Winston Churchill High School in Calgary, AB, from 1994 to 1997. In addition, Chris Mackenzie obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2017.
