Thomas DeCotis, CIC has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Thomas started their career as a Data Editing Specialist at QuintilesIMS in 1996. In 1997, they joined Stanford Health Care as a Clinical Research Coordinator, where they worked until 1999. Thomas then moved on to Massachusetts General Hospital, where they served as a Clinical Research Associate for a year. In 2000, they established their own company, DeCotis Specialty Insurance, Inc., where they initially worked as an Admin Coordinator / IT Coordinator for a year. Thomas then took on the role of Assistant Underwriter from 2001 to 2004, and subsequently became an Underwriter until 2015. During this time, they also served as the COO from 2012 to 2015. Currently, they hold the position of CEO at DeCotis Specialty Insurance, Inc.

Thomas DeCotis, CIC completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Business Management at the University of Vermont from 1991 to 1995. Thomas then pursued a Certificate of Management in Business Management at Brown University, which they obtained in 2003. Additionally, Thomas has obtained the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) certification from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
