Margaret Liu has been working in the field of software engineering since 2016, when they began their role as Senior Software Engineer at Decide. Prior to this, they were a Research Assistant at Washington University School of Medicine from 2012 to 2016, where they were involved in scientific research and published two papers in ophthalmology. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as an Undergraduate Lab Technician in Haematology at National Taiwan University, College of Medicine and University Hospital. During the same year, they were also an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Liu Institute for Global Issues, University of British Columbia and at The University of British Columbia. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Student Intern in Biophysics at National Yang Ming University, where they conducted research and published two papers.
Margaret Liu attended Taipei American School from 2006 to 2010, where they earned their High School degree. Margaret then attended Smith College from 2010 to 2014, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy. Margaret also attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2013 to 2014, though they did not receive a degree. In 2016, they attended Washington University in St. Louis - University College for Non-degree / Independent learning.
