Nicole Wirtherle has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on portfolio management and project leadership. Nicole started their career at the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Hannover School of Veterinary Science, as a Scientist/Assistant Scientist, where they conducted clinical studies and supervised molecular lab work. Nicole then worked as an Assistant Veterinarian at Small Animal Surgery Steven Kellner before joining Pfizer Animal Health UK 1 Ltd as a Clinical Manager.

Nicole then joined Bayer Animal Health, where they held various roles. As a Clinical Development Manager, they were responsible for the development and maintenance of veterinary drugs. Later on, as a Global Project Manager, they led international research and development teams and collaborated with business development and strategic marketing to evaluate new opportunities.

Their next position was at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC, where they held multiple roles, including EU Technical Manager, Business Manager Anaesthesia and Analgesia, and Portfolio Manager - Product Development. In these roles, they were responsible for technical content, marketing lead, and pipeline evaluation and optimization. Nicole then became the Head of Global Portfolio Management and EU Clinical, followed by the Head of Global Portfolio Management, Product Development, before assuming their current role as the Head of Global Project Portfolio Management & Innovation Strategy. In this role, they lead the PMO team and drives ideation and innovation processes aligned with various partners across the company.

Nicole Wirtherle has a strong educational background in veterinary science and medicine. Nicole obtained their DVM degree from Tieraerztliche Hochschule Hannover in 2000, followed by a Dr. med. vet. degree from the same institution in 2003. Nicole also holds an additional certification in National Certificate for Veterinary Parasitology, obtained in 2005 from Tieraerztliche Hochschule Hannover in Germany. In 2016, they pursued a Disruptive Strategy program at HBX | Harvard Business School. Nicole has further enhanced their skills and knowledge through various certifications, including Decision Analysis & Portfolio Management Masterclass from PPVC in 2022, LEADING ÂÜÀòÂÒÂ×ANIZATIONS AND CHANGE from Emeritus in 2021, and Power BI with Project Online for Report Authors from Wellingtone in 2020, among others.
