David Halliwell is an accomplished academic leader with extensive experience in partnerships and research management within higher education and environmental sectors. Currently serving as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Partnerships at Deakin University since August 2015, David has driven strategic initiatives that enhance international engagement and industry collaborations. Previous roles include Pro Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of Partnerships, where David facilitated sectoral partnerships, and positions such as Deputy Executive Dean and Director of Research Partnerships, focusing on innovative R&D solutions in science and engineering. David's leadership experience extends to roles such as Chief Executive Officer at Water Research Australia Limited and Research Director at the Department of Primary Industries, complemented by advanced academic qualifications including an MBA and a PhD in Chemistry.
